196 Mayon tremors recorded

Government volcanologists reported yesterday a total of 196 high frequency short duration harmonic tremors associated with rockfall avalanches and 2 high frequency volcanic earthquakes were recorded by the seismic network at Mayon Volcano during the past observation period.
The total of high frequency short duration harmonic tremors recorded for seven days (June 11 to June 17) has reached 1,425 compared to the 650 registered by the seismic network during the week June 4 to June 10, the vocanologists said.
Crater glow and steam emission activities of the volcano were not observed due to thick cloud cover brought about by the prevailing weather condition in the region.  Felix Delos Santos
