CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga Police authorities invited a re-electionist mayor and vice mayor in Nueva Ecija and two policemen for questioning in connection with the foiled ambush of a Lakas-NUCD candidate for municipal councilor last April 29, which left three persons dead.
Senior Superintendent Raul Bacalso, Nueva Ecija police director, informed the regional police command that he summoned
Mayor Jimmy Domingo and Vice Mayor Mando Andres, both of Sto. Domingo town, SPO1 Wilfredo Lacanilao and PO2 Dennis Pecson.
Domingo and Andres, who both belong to the Balane party, and the two municipal lawmen will be asked to shed light on the slay attempt on councilor bet Naradel Andres Monsalud.
Domingos group, accompanied by the two policemen, was reportedly having a meeting in nearby Barangay San Agustin when Monsaluds group was waylaid, police said.
Domingo, in a statement to the police, said he heard successive gunshots at about 11:45 p.m., while delivering a speech before his supporters, and that he told his police security escorts to report the matter to the police station.
