10 Davao kids die of measles

DAVAO CITY At least 10 children died from a fresh outbreak of measles that began last month in a remote barangay in the citys Marilog district.
The victims, the city health office said, were mostly children of lumads (highlanders) in Barangay Gumitan, which can be reached after walking for more than eight kilometers.
The health office said the children died from complications like diarrhea, dehydration and broncho-pneumonia. Edith Regalado
