Kidnapped Antipolo businessman freed

-
A 65-year-old Antipolo City businessman, who was abducted by four armed men last week, was freed unharmed last Thursday night after his family reportedly paid his ransom, police said.

Tan was aboard a Toyota Land Cruiser, along with his wife Veronica and maid Luz Gumban, when the kidnappers blocked their path and fired on the vehicle.

The armed men dragged Tan out of the Land Cruiser and forced him into a dark green Space Wagon with license plate TDM 694.

Joint operatives of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group are closing in on Tan’s abductors.

Meanwhile, Director Hermogenes Ebdane, PAOCTF chief, met yesterday with the Chinese-Filipino Business Club Inc. to discuss measures to combat kidnappings.

Ebdane stressed the importance of teamwork and the cooperation of the community in solving crimes, particularly kidnappings for ransom. Jaime Laude
