The Philippine National Police (PNP) tagged yesterday members of a fraternity called "Samahang Ilocano" as responsible for the kidnap-slaying of Baguio City students Gian Carlo Leung and Tihani Tingal last week.
Probers have established that revenge was the motive behind the murder of the two University of the Philippines-Baguio City students, through questioning members of the Beta Sigma fraternity, which Leung headed, and its rival, the Samahang Ilocano.
Leung, according to sources privy to the investigation, was allegedly involved in the maltreatment last month of a young female member of Samahang Ilocano who later sought the help of her sorority and fraternity mates.
When the perpetrators learned that agents of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force were monitoring their movements, they killed Leung and Tingal and dumped their bodies separately in Pampanga.
Police hope to arrest the killers before Monday.  Christina Mendez
