5 killed in Albay road accident

LEGAZPI CITY At least five provincial and regional officials for two government lending and financing institutions here were killed and scores more were wounded when an L-300 van collided with an aircon bus early yesterday morning while traversing the portion of Daang Maharlika in Oas, Albay.
Superintendent Reynaldo Rafal, Albay police director, identified the fatalities as Aida Salvadora, 38, assistant regional manager of Pag-IBIG office in Bicol who also owns the van; Cecille Mendoza, 33, branch manager of GSIS-Naga; Sharon Rueda, GSIS-Legazpi; Balbino Ledesma, 50, agriculture technologist, DA-Albay office; and, Ruben Bonansa, 53, DA employee.
