Internal Revenue Commissioner Dakila Fonacier announced yesterday the launching of a new automated system for efficient monitoring of taxpayers accounts.
The Account Receivable System (ARS) was launched in the Makati office of the Bureau of Internal Revenue to facilitate the computerized conversion and processing of existing accounts receivables.
The system, Fonacier said, was developed to increase revenue collection through standardized and systematic collection procedures.
The BIR chief said the new system also seeks to enhance voluntary compliance through a timely issuance of notices or reminder letters and systematized the monitoring of accounts receivable by using a standard case template.
The capability aims to improve previous procedures which involves jurisdictional responsibility. The whole new system involves a more decentralized processing down to the level of the BIRs district offices.
According to Fonacier, the system provides interfacing with other capabilities of the BIRs Integrated Tax System (ITS) for a more efficient and accurate monitoring and verification of accounts receivable. Donabelle Gatdula
