Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Wednesday the leader of a syndicate engaged in the manufacture of fake vinegar and soy sauce in simultaneous raids at its warehouses in Quezon and Cavite provinces.
Lawyer Arlis Vela, NBI Special Task Force executive officer and head of the raiding teams, said Porfirio Perez, the alleged leader of the syndicate, was arrested in Barangay San Agustin III, Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Vela said Perez did not resist arrest after NBI agents opened several cartons of fake vinegar and soy sauce of known brands in his presence.
Also seized by the raiding team were materials used in counterfeiting the products.  Nestor Etolle
