CALAPAN CITY Its all systems go for the celebration of Oriental Mindoros 50th founding anniversary, according to Gov. Rodolfo Valencia.
He said preparations for the one-week festival from Nov. 9 to 15, including a thorough sprucing up of roadlink facilities, are being carried out to the hilt to ensure an "all-time" success.
Focusing on the theme Ginintuang Pag-diriwang, Ginintuang Lalawigan, the celebration will be highlighted by the Sanduguan, a reenactment of pre-Spanish trade relations and commerce between Chinese merchants and natives of the province.
"Sanduguan looks back to the natives of Ma-it (Mindoro) and the genial traders of Cathay (China) who carved unusual cultural ties that now influence inter-Asian trade," Valencia said.
