KORONADAL, South Cotabato Local folk celebrated Sunday night the successful bid of this town to become a city.
About a thousand residents gathered in front of the municipal hall as local officials unveiled its new city seal amid a spectacular fireworks display and noise barrage.
Mayor Vicente de Jesus said cityhood would further spur the development of the area and improve the delivery of basic services to his constituents.
He said he also expects an annual internal revenue allotment of at least P200-million beginning next year. Allen Estabillo
