Cebu-developed platform offers AI-assisted tools for lawyers
CEBU, Philippines — A Cebu-developed legal practice management platform that integrates case management, document organization, legal research and billing was introduced to lawyers during its launching held in Cebu City recently.
The Novus by Meek, developed by Meek Suites Inc., was presented to around 100 attendees during its launching as the platform provides a centralized workspace for lawyers to manage case and client records, documents, communications, court schedules, and billing.
It also features Suta Sentinel, which matches incoming court notices with relevant cases and suggests follow-up tasks or deadlines for lawyers to review.
It can also read uploaded documents and suggest file names and categories to help organize case records.
Another feature, Suta Associate, assists lawyers in legal research and preparing initial drafts using selected documents.
The company said the AI-assisted tools are intended to support legal work, with research outputs and suggested actions remaining subject to review by lawyers.
“We wanted to create something practical, useful, and accessible to Filipino lawyers,” Atty. Alan Siu said in his welcome remarks.
Siu’s legal practice experience and the technical expertise of Atty. Rexis Jun Maamo contributed to the platform’s development, with feedback from legal practitioners guiding its improvements.
Maamo said the tools address routine administrative tasks that consume lawyers’ time while allowing them to retain control over legal decisions. — (FREEMAN)
