P141 milllion weed seized at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — Over 94 kilos of high-grade marijuana valued at P141 million were intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay on Tuesday.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the contraband was discovered by airport authorities at the customs international arrival area.
The shipment was first spotted in a luggage at the X-ray screening counter.
During manual inspection, authorities found 94.56 kilos of marijuana.
Nartatez lauded airport security officers for preventing the illegal drugs from being sold in the streets.
The marijuana was turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. – Rudy Santos
