MANILA, Philippines — The Farm Fresh Foxies knew that for them to succeed in the future, their veterans would need to find ways to contribute in whatever way possible.

They did.

“My mindset is just to contribute to the team the best way I can to help us win, and I’m thankful I did,” said battle-tested spiker Ara Galang after helping Farm Fresh eke out a 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-12, 15-10 win over Capital1 in the PVL on Tour at the Victorias City Coliseum in Negros Occidental yesterday.

Galang made the most of her extended minutes and fired 14 points – eight off kills and three each from blocks and aces – as the Foxies closed their campaign in the preseason meet with a decent 2-1 record.

Fellow veteran Ces Molina was just as steady, chipping in 16 points, while Riri Meneses and Honey Royse Tubino also delivered crucial contributions, much like Galang.

Of course, Trisha Tubu was electric as usual, unleashing a match-high 24 points built on 21 crisp kills.

But the Foxies knew Tubu couldn’t do it alone, and they needed that burst of energy from their elder stateswomen.

And they will need more of that when the PVL Invitational Conference kicks off on Aug. 31, with Farm Fresh among the six teams in the field that includes guest clubs from Thailand and Vietnam.

The other local teams seeing action are Creamline, Nxled and PLDT.
