Go fights back with 67, makes Asian Developmental Tour cut

MANILA, Philippines — Lloyd Go rallied with a 67 to make the cut, emerging as the lone Filipino standing in the Indonesia Pro-Am Championship of the Asian Developmental Tour at the Gunung Geulis Country Club’s East Course in Bogor, Indonesia, Thursday.
Go bounced back from a so-so even-par opening round with a brilliant start, birdieing the first hole before making a pitch-in eagle on the second. He added two more birdies against two bogeys over the next seven holes, then steadied himself on the challenging back nine, birdieing No. 16 to close with a 67 and a two-round total of 138 at the par-71 layout.
His rebound kept alive his bid to extend a strong run of form after winning the last two Philippine Golf Tour legs in contrasting fashion at Pinewoods in Baguio and Pradera Verde in Pampanga last month.
Angelo Que, meanwhile, suffered a heartbreaking exit despite opening with a bogey-free 67.
The three-time Asian Tour winner and reigning PGT Order of Merit champion appeared poised to contend after shooting a four-under 31 on the front nine. But his bid unraveled on the back nine when he holed out for a rare quadruple bogey on the par-4 10th — a costly mistake from which he never recovered.
Que dropped another stroke on No. 11 before bogeying Nos. 14 and 17, limping home with a 42 for a 73 and a 140 aggregate, one stroke short of the cut.
Sean Ramos also failed to advance despite a 69, finishing at 141, while Enrico Gallardo matched par 71 for a 144 total.
Chinese player Andi Xu seized the lead with a blistering 64 to reach 12-under 130, one stroke ahead of Khavis Varadan and Darcy Brereton, who posted 131s after rounds of 65 and 66, respectively.
