Mamuyac moves to Phoenix

MANILA, Philippines — Rain or Shine and Gian Mamuyac, one of the young stars who blossomed under its banner, are parting ways.
After failing to come to terms on a contract extension beyond the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup, the Elasto Painters shipped Mamuyac to Phoenix.
In exchange, the E-Painters acquired the Fuel Masters’ first-round pick for the Season 53 Rookie Draft.
Aside from Mamuyac, Phoenix also received ROS’ second-round selection for Season 53 under the swap package that was approved by the PBA yesterday.
Mamuyac’s camp said they will negotiate a new three-year deal with his new club.
The 6-foot-2 playmaker is bound for a team up with fellow Ateneo alumnus Tyler Tio and JL delos Santos at the Phoenix backcourt.
He is expected to make his debut for the Charles Tiu-coached club on Sunday against Barangay Ginebra.
