Bahay Toro rules Mikey Belmonte Cup

MANILA, Philippines — Bahay Toro emerged as champion in the Mikey Belmonte Cup Season 2, capping its successful campaign with a gritty 99-93 win over Commonwealth in a finals thriller at the Central Recreation and Fitness Center, Quezon City.
Payatas rounded out the podium, securing 3rd place in the tournament that drew a record 115 participating barangays from across Quezon City.
From tip-off to the final buzzer, the finals night showcased the heart, discipline, and raw talent of QC’s youth. More than just a game, the MB Cup has become a symbol of barangay pride – and Bahay Toro carried that pride all the way to the crown.
The championship night was made more historic by the continued support of Councilor Mikey Belmonte, who has championed youth development through sports and opportunities for the next generation.
The tournament was backed by Sen. Bong Go, chairman of the Senate Committees on Sports and Youth, and Philippine Sports Commission chairman Patrick Gregorio, underscoring the growing support for grassroots basketball in Quezon City.
