Milyun-milyong puslit na sibuyas, nasabat
MANILA, Philippines — Milyum-milyong halaga ng puslit na sibuyas ang nakumpiska ng mga tauhan ng Customs intelligence and Investigation Service-Manila International Container Port (CIIS-MICP) na dumating sa bansa mula China.
Natuklasan na ang nasa P139.7 milyong halaga ng puti at pulang sibuyas ay naka-consign sa Taculog J International Consumer Goods Trading na nakabase sa Muntinlupa City.
Sinabi ni BOC Yogi Filemon Ruiz na batay sa report, ang mga shipment ay idineklarang naglalaman ng udon noodles at frozen dimsum subalit nang inspeksyunin ay mga sibuyas, frozen ox tripe, frozen barbecue, at frozen craw fish.
Sinabi ni Ruiz na ang nasabing kumpanya ay nakapagpasok sa bansa ng mga puslit na agricultural products sa loob ng wala pang 2 buwan.
“Although I am proud of our men and what they were able to accomplish these past weeks, I am appalled at the gall of these groups. We have reports coming in that a kilo of red onions sells for P720 in the markets. Bringing a hot commodity like onions into our borders without going through the proper procedures is an affront to our farmers, the people who make sure we have enough supply of it,” ani Ruiz.
