Call center agent hurt in LRT accident

MANILA, Philippines — A call center agent was hospitalized after figuring in an accident at the Buendia station of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) in Pasay City Monday night.

Juliete Eco, 48, was reported to be in serious condition at the Adventist Medical Center.

Eco was rushing to work at around 6 p.m. and tried to catch a train as it was about to leave. The train’s doors closed, trapping Eco’s foot and dragging him from the station’s platform.

Security guards, however, were quick to respond as the driver stopped the train, police said.

Police investigators are still trying to coordinate with the Light Railway Train  Administration.

The LRT management has not issued any statement regarding the accident.
