Actress’ sister on Taguig cops’ drug list
MANILA, Philippines - Actress Maritoni Fernandez’s sister, who was found dead over the weekend, was put on the drug watchlist of the Taguig police after she was arrested in 2013, the Southern Police District (SPD) said yesterday.
According to the SPD, Aurora Maria Moynihan was arrested by the Taguig police’s anti-illegal drug unit at a drug den in Barangay Sta. Ana in Taguig on Feb. 28, 2013.
Shabu, marijuana and Ecstasy tablets were seized from Moynihan, who was arrested along with Joana Tinga, Henry Tinga, Crayon Ong and four others.
They were charged with distribution and use of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, all under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Earlier, the Quezon City Police said Moynihan was not included in their drug watchlist.
Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said they are verifying with other law enforcement agencies reports that Moynihan, 45, was peddling drugs to celebrities.
A placard that read “pusher ng mga celebrities kasunod na kayo (pusher to celebrities you are next),” was recovered by police beside Moynihan, who was found dead at the corner of Temple Drive and Giraffe street in Barangay Ugong Norte on Saturday.
Police said they also recovered sachets of shabu near her body. Witnesses earlier told police they heard gunshots minutes after a silver Toyota Fortuner parked along Temple Drive.
The suspects dumped Moynihan before fleeing toward White Plains Avenue.
