Cop, partner held in drug sting

MANILA, Philippines – A Quezon City police officer and his partner were arrested in a drug sting in Marikina City on Tuesday night.

Police Officer 1 Orlando Danao Jr. of the Quezon City Police District Station 6 yielded 15 grams of shabu, a .45-caliber pistol and the P300 in marked money.

Danao was nabbed along with his partner Joyce Ann Combi and Eddie Portacio, owner of the house, which the policeman used in his illegal drug trade.

Reports showed that the Marikina police received two letters detailing the drug pushing activity of Danao at Balubad Resettlement in Barangay Nangka.

After two weeks of surveillance, Danao was caught after he handed over a sachet of shabu in exchange for P300 to a policeman who posed as a buyer.

Danao and his cohorts are being held at the Marikina police detention center.

Charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the suspects before the city prosecutor’s office.
