5 Metro Manila police stations get computers from SFPD

MANILA, Philippines – Five police stations in Metro Manila have received computer units, laptops, emergency kits and other equipment from the San Francisco police in California.

Eleven members of the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) headed by Lt. Eric Quema handed out the donation during their visits to the police stations in Navotas, Mandaluyong, Pateros, Cubao in Quezon City and Raxabago in Tondo, Manila.

They are in the country for the annual Philippine National Police-San Francisco Police Department Filipino-American Law Enforcement Officers Association Police Exchange Training Program 2016. The program is conducted every year to enhance mutual capacity building between the PNP and the San Francisco police in crime prevention.

The PNP and SFPD exchange police practices aimed at further strengthening response to emerging transnational crimes.

Part of the program is visiting police stations in Metro Manila and giving equipment for police officers working in the field.

“The exchange training program gives the SFPD delegates a chance to establish friendship with their Filipino counterparts. Building relationships is our way to understand what we can do to help each other in addressing crimes that transcend our borders,” Quema said.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Joel Pagdilao thanked the SFPD for the donation.

“We look forward to our continuous partnership in the battle against transnational crimes, and rest assured that the NCRPO will always be open to this exchange program,” Pagdilao said.
