Students lauded for win in robotics meet

MANILA, Philippines – The Muntinlupa City government lauded yesterday De La Salle Santiago Zobel’s robotics team, whose members bagged 10 medals in the 17th International Robot Olympiad held in South Korea recently.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi conferred medals of excellence to the team’s 13 members and acknowledged the students’ parents for their unrelenting support.

The students won three gold and one silver medal and bagged six technical awards, besting 1,200 participants from Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Turkey and US last December.

Cholo Aguilar, Jared Elamparo and Juan Carlo Hernandez won the three gold medals. Hernandez also won the silver.

Bjorn Escalona, Ysabelle Dagondon, Yaj Diola, Joaquin De Guzman, Chiara Amisola, Meen Song, Jania Cruz, Joaquin Amante, Aaron Natividad and John dela Cruz received the technical awards.
