8 fall in drug stings

MANILA, Philippines – Police arrested eight people, including a woman, in separate drug stings in Valenzuela City Sunday night.

Xandra Palasan, 32, tagged as one of the city’s most wanted, was nabbed by police officers in Barangay Bisig at around 8 p.m.

Two plastic packets of shabu were recovered from Palasan, Superintendent Allan Ruba, head of the Valenzuela police anti-illegal drugs special operations task force, said.

Three hours later, policemen swooped down on a drug den in Barangay Lingunan where they arrested Marvin Rivamonte, 30; Julius Dizon, 25; Reccar Broga, 20; Edmar Bayanay, 32; Paul Vincent Funa, 23, and Joan Saligan, 32.
