Fire hits Arellano University

MANILA, Philippines - A fire of unknown origin broke out at the high school department of the Arellano University in Pasig City yesterday.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Arson probers said the blaze started in the school’s canteen in Barangay Caniogan at around 10 a.m.

Reports said that a security guard was manning his post when he saw smoke billowing out of the canteen.

The security guard tried but failed to contain the fire, prompting him to seek help from the city fire department.

The fire was declared under control at 10:46 a.m.

Arson investigators have yet to establish the cause of the fire.
