Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or number coding scheme is suspended today until Friday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said yesterday.

Under the UVVRP, vehicles with license plates ending in 1 and 2 are barred from the streets of Metro Manila on Mondays; 3 and 4 on Tuesdays; 5 and 6 on Wednesdays; 7 and 8 on Thursdays, and 9 and 0 on Fridays.

The number coding scheme is lifted during weekends and holidays.

The MMDA said number coded vehicles are allowed in the streets during the window hours between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The UVVRP is not enforced in the cities of Taguig and Marikina. There are no window hours in Makati City.
