MANILA, Philippines – A 22-year-old helper died while three others were injured when several glass panels fell on them in Caloocan City on Thursday.

John Marvin Sanchez was pinned under the glass panels and had to be pulled out from the pile of shards before he could be taken to the Caloocan City Medical Center, where he was declared dead on arrival, said Police Officer 2 Joy Alcoriza.

Sanchez; Dave Sarahan, 22; Manolito Poquita, 48; and Pablo Nanas, 42, were unloading a crate of glass panels in the AD Premier warehouse, owned by Elmer Chua, when the panels fell on them.

A settlement was reached yesterday between Sanchez’s mother and Chua.

A few days ago, a similar accident happened in Binondo, Manila that resulted in the death of Ever Roselloso and another worker.

The two workers and their colleagues were delivering the glass panels at the World Trade Exchange Building on Juan Luna street when the glass panels fell on them.
