PCL backs Alma Moreno’s Senate bid

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) yesterday aired its support for Parañaque City Councilor Alma Moreno, who is running for senator in the 2016 elections. 

Moreno, national chairman of PCL, has become a hot topic on social media after her television interview with broadcaster Karen Davila went viral online. 

Netizens bashed Moreno for not being able to answer the questions that Davila asked her, including her stand on the Reproductive Health Law. 

In a recent resolution, the PCL urged its members to support Moreno’s senatorial bid. 

Moreno is running under the United Nationalist Alliance of Vice President Jejomar Binay. 

The PCL has 15,000 councilor-members in 1,634 cities and municipalities in the country.
