MANILA, Philippines - The accused mastermind in the killing of international car racer Enzo Pastor has filed a petition for bail before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC).
Businessman Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman asked Judge Luisito Cortez of the Quezon City RTC Branch 85 to allow his continued detention at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for fear of his life as he claimed he had been receiving death threats.
De Guzman was arrested by the NBI in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Dec. 3. He is expected to be transferred to the Quezon City jail.
He allegedly masterminded the ambush of Pastor in Quezon City on June 12, 2014.
Pastor’s widow, Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor, was implicated in the murder. She has denied involvement in the crime.
