Longer hours for Las Piñas friendship route access

Perseus Echeminada - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Motorists who have friendship route stickers will have until midnight to go through selected private villages and subdivisions to avoid traffic gridlocks, the Las Piñas City government announced yesterday.

The friendship route is usually open from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Mayor Vergel Aguilar made the announcement as he ordered traffic enforcers and police officers to ensure the smooth flow of traffic at nine “chokepoints:” Philam, Sta. Cecilia, Moonwalk, Casimiro, Manila Times, Christ the King Villages, Concha Cruz in Barangay BF International/CAA, Daang Hari in Barangay Almanza 2, Barangay Zapote Junction and Barangay Pilar.

He warned police officers to refrain from extorting money from traffic violators.

Aguilar also directed police officers to conduct foot and mobile patrols at shopping malls, markets, churches and parks to deter criminals.
