Arraignment of alleged Pastor slay mastermind set
MANILA, Philippines - A Quezon City court has set the arraignment of the alleged mastermind in the murder of international racer Enzo Pastor on Tuesday.
An agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) went to the Regional Trial Court Branch 85 yesterday afternoon to inform the court of the arrest of businessman Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman.
In the one-page return of arrest warrant submitted to the court, special investigator Nestor Gutierrez said De Guzman was arrested by agents of the NBI National Capital Region in Barangay Bukal in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Thursday night.
A court employee said the arraignment of De Guzman will be held on Tuesday before Judge Luisito Cortez.
A produce order will be sent to the NBI, where the accused is currently detained.
De Guzman is wanted for murder for supposedly masterminding the ambush of Pastor in Quezon City on June 12, 2014.
Pastor’s widow, Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor, is also charged with parricide for the crime.
They were initially tagged by alleged gunman, Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel, as those who supposedly planned the crime.
Angel, who is currently detained and facing trial, later recanted his confession.
De Guzman was arrested on the same day the court archived the cases as the suspects have yet to be arrested.
The case against the businessman will now be revived.
Meanwhile, Guerrero-Pastor has yet to surface, with reports saying she is already out of the country.
