6 fall in Quezon City drug stings
MANILA, Philippines – Six men, including one of Quezon City’s most wanted drug suspects, were arrested in separate stings yesterday.
Florentino Bernardino, 43, sixth on the Quezon City Police District’s list of drug suspects, was the first arrested after he sold shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon at past midnight, said Chief Inspector Enrico Figueroa, who heads the QCPD’s anti-illegal drug special operations task group.
Three sachets of shabu with a street value of P10,000 were seized from Bernardino.
Gerardo Umali, 45, was arrested in Libis at around 5 a.m. Umali, a member of a drug gang allegedly led by Joselito Gonzales, yielded a sachet of shabu worth P5,000.
Alfredo Rodriguez, 51; Marlon Moreno, 40; Jon Jon Buenaventura, 36; and Mary Rose Maquinad, 27, were arrested after they were caught using shabu in Barangay Pinyahan.
