MANILA, Philippines – More than 100 members of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be feted today for their role in the successful hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Manila last week, a police official said yesterday.
NCRPO chief Director Joel Pagdilao said the police officers who helped secure the APEC leaders and other foreign dignitaries would be given “Medalya ng Kasanayan” for their accomplishment.
Pagdilao headed the Task Group Manila for the APEC meet.
“The officers and men of the NCRPO played key roles during the APEC summit,” he said in an interview.
The awarding of medals will be held during the flag-raising rites at the NCRPO headquarters at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.
After the awarding, Pagdilao will visit the five police districts in Metro Manila for a boodle fight with the police officers.
“Everybody deserves a pat on the back because no untoward incidents happened during the APEC meet, except for clashes between the protestors and the police,” Pagdilao said.
