Muntinlupa hosts International l Children’s Day

MANILA, Philippines - The Muntinlupa City government hosted yesterday the International Children’s Day spearheaded by the United Nations at the Expo Trade Hall of Filinvest mall in Alabang.

UN department of economic and social welfare goodwill ambassador Gion Gounet and Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman graced the event, with the theme “Stop Violence against Children.”

Commission on Audit commissioner Heidi Mendoza, incoming undersecretary general of the UN’s Office of Internal Oversight Services, also attended the gathering.

The International Children’s Day was observed in cooperation with the Southern Philippines Muslim Unity and Development Association Inc.

SPMUDA coordinator Ricky Matalam thanked Mayor Jaime Fresnedi for supporting the group’s advocacy in uplifting children’s welfare.
