Guard threatens enforcer in mabuhay lane clearing op

MANILA, Philippines – A 51-year-old bank security guard was arrested for allegedly threatening a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority enforcer during a mabuhay lane clearing operation in Barangay Lourdes, Quezon City Friday.

Petronilo Rontos was apprehended after he pulled out his service firearm – a 12-gauge shotgun –  and pointed it at Daniel Senin Jr. when the enforcer was issuing a traffic violation ticket to Rontos’ colleague for parking his motorcycle along N.S. Amoranto street, a mabuhay lane, Police Officer 2 Jason Santoceldes said. 

Rontos is being held at the La Loma police station on charges of grave threats and direct assault.

Bank security officer Alex Batacan was charged with murder for killing Enrique Fresnido when the traffic enforcer issued him a traffic violation ticket after he interfered with a mabuhay lane clearing operation on Wednesday.
