MANILA, Philippines - A barangay watchman died and a 36-year-old man was wounded in separate shootings in Caloocan City since Wednesday.

Barangay 28 tanod Virgilio Santiago and his wife were resting after feeding their pigs in their backyard when two men arrived and shot him in the neck at around 5:30 p.m., Chief Inspector Ilustre Mendoza said.

Meanwhile, neighbors Ryan dela Cruz and Bryan Camana figured in a heated argument in Barangay 153 before dawn yesterday.

Camana reportedly drew a handgun and shot Dela Cruz repeatedly at past 2 a.m., Mendoza said.

Dela Cruz was rushed to the MCU Hospital, where he was reported to be in serious condition.
