1 dead, 1 hurt in Navotas shooting
MANILA, Philippines - A 24-year-old man is in critical condition and a woman was hit by a stray bullet during a shooting in Navotas City yesterday morning.
Ryan Quisayang was attending a wake along Antorium street when a man arrived at around 5:30 a.m. and shot him in the neck, city police chief Senior Superintendent Romeo Uy said.
Quisayang’s brother rushed him to the Tondo Medical Center, where he was able to tell investigators that the man who shot him was “Reggie.”
A few minutes later, Ligaya Escarlan arrived at the same hospital with a bullet wound in her left arm.
Escarlan said she was buying bread at a nearby store when she heard the gunshots.
She said she saw Quisayang fall to the pavement, then felt a bullet hit her arm.
Uy ordered a manhunt for the suspect, who escaped.
