1 dead as motorcycle hits jeepney

MANILA, Philippines - A 47-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a passenger jeepney in Malabon City Sunday night.

Resty Cruz was on his way home on his motorcycle when he rammed into a jeepney on the opposite lane in Barangay Catmon shortly before 8 p.m., according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Severino Abad Jr.

The jeepney was driven by Rustan Ganao, who was plying the Malabon-Monumento route.

Cruz was thrown from his motorcycle due to the impact.

Ganao was arrested and was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
