Ex-Muntinlupa mayor guns for former post

MANILA, Philippines – A rematch between incumbent Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and his predecessor, Aldrin San Pedro, shaped up yesterday after San Pedro filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) under the United Nationalist Alliance.

San Pedro was accompanied by his running mate, Councilor Raul Corro, and congressional candidate Ronnie Rickets, former head of the Optical Media Board.

San Pedro will challenge Fresnedi, who belongs to the Liberal Party, for the mayoral post. He lost to Fresnedi in 2013.

Ricketts will go up against reelectionist Rep. Rodolfo Biazon.

The LP candidates, headed by Fresnedi and his running mate, Association of Barangay Captains-Muntinlupa president Celso Diokno, are set to file their COCs on Friday.
