Car firm exec sues LTFRB ‘officer’ for estafa

MANILA, Philippines - An executive of a car company filed estafa against an alleged “liaison officer” of the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for failing to fulfill a promise to provide a taxi franchise within six months after he was paid P235,000.

Salvador Pante, service manager of a car company in Otis, filed the case against a certain Tammy Alaban Aliligay with Manila Police District.

Pante said the deal happened on April 15, 2014 in his office on Paz M. Guazon street. He said he had two new cars he planned to turn into taxis, so he asked Aliligay for help.

Aliligay “offered to process the taxi franchise within six months,” Pante told Senior Police Officer 2 James Poso.

Pante said from P150,000, the amount he shelled out grew to P230,000. He paid the amount in tranches from April 2014 to May 2015.
