MANILA, Philippines – Two men, believed to be Quezon City’s top drug suspects, were killed in an encounter with anti-narcotics officers during a drug sting in Barangay Greater Fairview early yesterday morning.
They were killed along Mindanao Avenue at around 4 a.m. after the police received information on the suspects’ illegal activities, Chief Inspector Enrico Figueroa, head of the Quezon City Police District Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, said.
Figueroa identified the slain suspects only as Alvin and Mar, who belonged to the Samuel drug ring.
The suspects fired shots after learning that they were dealing with policemen, Figueroa said.
Recovered from the suspects were four plastic sachets of shabu worth P10,000, a .45 caliber pistol, a .38 caliber revolver, a digital weighing scale, drug paraphernalia and a motorcycle.
