Messenger to go home after winning P16-M jackpot

Perseus Echeminada - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After 15 years of working in Makati City, a 48-year-old messenger is going back to his home province after claiming the jackpot of the 6/49 Super Lotto’s Sept. 3 draw, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced yesterday.

The messenger, who has been betting on lotto games for the past 15 years, bet P60 for three sets of random combinations, one of which – 17-07-38-03-23-13 – hit the jackpot of P16 million, PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said.

“The winner, who is married and has three children, plans to buy a house and lot, help his siblings and go back to his province to invest in a piggery,” he said.

The messenger also plans to save part of his winnings for his children’s future, Rojas added.

The 6/49 Super Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
