Man arrested for student’s slay in Manila
MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested a man who allegedly robbed and killed a 17-year-old student in Manila on Tuesday.
Richard Pring, 32, alias “Target” and “Richard Tenorio,” was nabbed at his house in Grace Park, Caloocan City at around 8:30 p.m., the Manila Police District homicide section said.
Police said Pring was the one who robbed and killed Renzo Rey Bodoy in Quiapo on Tuesday morning.
Bodoy was in a jeepney traversing Quezon Bridge when the suspect declared a holdup at past 6:30 a.m.
Instead of yielding his bag, Bodoy jumped off the jeep and ran.
But the suspect chased the teenager and stabbed him to death.
Police said a 27-year-old woman was hurt after she jumped from the jeep during the commotion.
Pring was detained at the MPD headquarters pending the filing of murder and robbery charges against him.
