MANILA, Philippines - A man was wounded when two teens who took part in a basketball game gone awry fired shots in the air in Malabon Sunday afternoon.

Nestle Badato, 25, was resting on the third floor of their house when he was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet. He was rushed to the Tondo Medical Center.

According to initial reports, a group led by a 15-year-old boy had an argument with the group led by “Menard” as they were playing basketball on Hito street in Barangay Longos shortly before 4 p.m.

Chief Inspector Rey Medina, Malabon police investigation chief, said the boy was beaten up by Menard and his group, who fled after the incident.

Medina said Menard and a companion returned a few minutes later, armed with a homemade shotgun and a caliber .38 revolver and started firing into the air.

Badato is still recovering while police launched a manhunt for the two suspects.
