8 fugitives caught in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines - Eight fugitives were arrested in Quezon City during an anti-crime drive over the weekend, an official said yesterday.

Tracker teams served arrest warrants to Marlon Bien, Kim Asis, Larry Santos, Ronald Escanilla, Cheryl Ballesteros, May Babula, Jon Erik Garcia and Niño Polo, Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Edgardo Tinio said.

He said Bien was charged with qualified theft; Asis, traffic rule violation; Santos, theft; Escanilla, murder; Ballesteros, robbery; Babula, theft; Garcia, robbery; and Polo for illegal drugs.

In a separate operation, the QCPD arrested robbery suspects Joven Valeza, Eric Simbulan, Johny Ricky Serrano, Danreb Villarta and Bernabe Tayong.

Tinio said Valeza robbed a commercial establishment where he was previously employed.
