MANILA, Philippines - Re-electionist Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada said yesterday that he will select his running mate for the 2016 polls based on a survey he will commission.
In an interview with The STAR, Estrada said he has no short list yet for vice mayoral candidates.
“I will have to commission a survey and from there I would choose my running mate for next year’s election,” Estrada said.
Estrada said earlier that he is more inclined to run for re-election in Manila but is not closing his door to another presidential bid.
Vice Mayor Isko Moreno will be running for senator under the opposition, Estrada said, adding that he will campaign for Moreno.
He said he wants to bring back the old glory of Manila as the capital city of the country.
He said Manila was left bankrupt by his predecessor, Alfredo Lim.
