MANILA, Philippines - Burglars broke into the house of a son of former senator Panfilo Lacson in Parañaque City before dawn yesterday, carting away electronic gadgets and other valuables.
Ronald Jay Lacson, 41, reported that the burglary at his house in BF Homes Subdivision happened at around 4 a.m., city police chief Senior Superintendent Ariel Andrade said.
Initial police investigation showed that Lacson woke up to go to the bathroom when he noticed a man going out through their gate.
Alarmed, Lacson turned on the house lights and was shocked to see their living room had been ransacked.
The younger Lacson told police that among the items taken by the burglars were his mobile phone and a laptop computer.
According to Andrade, investigators have invited for questioning five suspects, including a house painter Lacson earlier hired for a job at his house.
Andrade said a follow-up police operation is ongoing to look for other possible suspects as well to recover Lacson’s stolen belongings.
Lacson ran in the Cavite vice gubernatorial race in 2013 but lost to Jolo Revilla, son of detained Sen. Ramon Bong Revilla Jr.
