Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino will lead today the reopening of the newly renovated Quezon museum, coinciding with the commemoration of the 137th birth anniversary of former President Manuel Luis Quezon.

Mayor Herbert Bautista, Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte and other national and local government officials are expected to join the President during the event at the Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC).

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines led the renovation of the Quezon museum, where the tomb of the former president and his wife Aurora are located.

Last year, the city government opened to the public the Quezon Heritage House, which was transferred to the QMC from its original location on Gilmore street.

Bautista will lead the turnover of socialized housing units to at least 100 beneficiaries in Barangay Culiat this afternoon.

Liberal Party presidential bet and Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II is expected to attend the event.

The housing program is among the 11 in-city housing projects that the local government has been developing for its poor residents.

More than 1,500 families have benefited from the project.
