Criminology student arrested for rape

MANILA, Philippines - A criminology student was arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old nursing student in Valenzuela City Monday night.

Police identified the suspect as Jerwin Hilardo, 24, of Dulong Tangke street, Barangay Malinta.

The victim told probers that Hilardo’s sister invited her to her birthday party.

She said she and the other guests drank beer during the party. After a few minutes, Hilardo urged her to take a glass of red wine.

The victim said she felt dizzy and decided to go home but the suspect followed her and forced her to go back to their house where Hilardo allegedly raped her.

Accompanied by her uncle, the victim filed a complaint against Hilardo with the Valenzuela police Women and Children Protection Desk.
