Businessman’s stolen car recovered in San Juan
MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was able to recover his stolen car after he saw it being driven by a man in San Juan City Saturday afternoon.
Tychicus Nambio, 38, followed his white Honda Civic until it stopped at the parking area of Puregold Agora along N. Domingo street in Barangay Pedro Cruz.
Nambio called up San Juan police chief Senior Superintendent Ariel Arcinas and have the driver of his stolen car, Mark Yap alias “Franco de Lara,” 35, arrested.
Arcinas placed Yap under tactical interrogation before turning him over to car theft investigators of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
“We wanted to know how Nambio’s car ended in Yap’s possession,” Arcinas said.
Police said Yap, of 59 Masikap Extension in Barangay Diliman, Quezon City, is cooperating in the investigation.
Nambio’s car was stolen at the parking lot of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute along East Avenue, Quezon City on Dec. 14, 2014.
The businessman reported the incident to the QCPD anti-car theft unit and the Highway Patrol Group at Camp Crame.
But Nambio did not get any progress report from the police for more than three months.
He presented documents proving he owns the car.
