Revilla son’s condition improves

Perseus Echeminada - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla’s condition continues to improve after he reportedly accidentally shot himself last Saturday, the Asian Hospital and Medical Center said yesterday.

In the latest medical bulletin, signed by Dr. Joven Tanchuco, said a day after he was admitted, Revilla had low-grade fever and he was shifted to a broad-spectrum antibiotic.

The Cavite official is a son of Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr., who is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in connection with the pork barrel scam.

The fever, likely caused by a “resolving lung infection” and partially collapsed lungs, broke on the morning of March 3.

Tanchuco said that Revilla’s symptoms do not fit the criteria for him to be diagnosed with hospital-acquired pneumonia.

The medical bulletin said Revilla has been moving within his hospital room, as advised by his attending physician, to help resolve his partially collapsed lungs and prevent complications.

He is no longer coughing up blood, the report said.

Meanwhile, Muntinlupa police investigators are expected to come out next week with their report on the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident in their house in Ayala Alabang.
